Abstract

This paper has as its theme the care of people with mental disorders by family members and presents as a research question: what are the main factors of psychological illness that affect the caregivers of family members with mental disorders? To develop the research we started from the objective: to understand the factors of psychological illness that affect the caregivers of family members with mental disorders. As for the methodological aspect, the research is qualitative and literature review of an exploratory nature, where books and articles indexed in databases, magazines, official data were used according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The result achieved with the research is that the family caregivers of loved ones with mental disorders are physically and mentally worn out and need psychological support to be able to guarantee a better quality of life for themselves and their caregiver.
